The Winnunga Nimmityjah Residential Rehabilitation Facility is a two-storey, 24-bed centre at the base of Mount Majura, offering culturally safe and inclusive rehabilitation programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Set within profiled metal cladding, the external glazing connects the building to the surrounding bushland and landscaping and keeps it in view throughout the building.
Thermally broken AWS 804 and 806 CentreGLAZE framing is paired with Viridian Climatech double glazing across the facility. The system delivers consistent thermal performance, lets in natural light and maintains comfortable conditions for residents and staff, while BAL19 requirements were achieved through compliant flyscreens to nominated areas.
On the ground floor, FlowTHRU Pro drain sills are fitted to every sliding door. They create a level threshold between inside and out, so residents, visitors and staff can move through the building and its grounds easily. The large commercial window systems also meet the project’s anti-ligature requirements, without losing natural light or views.
